Style Icon: Emanuel Limon

About a month ago, I had the amazing opportunity to meet Emanuel Limon, visionary extraordinaire, expressing his ideas through design, art, and photography. Like a mash-up between Warhol and Rick Owens, Limon pushes the envelope with his reconstructed masterpieces.

His sunglasses first caught my eye with futuristic shaping and mixed-media that I’ve never seen before. When asked where he got them, he understatedly said “I made them.” And I’m thinking: wow-where do you even begin with making sunglasses?!

And it doesn’t end there, Limon also reconstructs and designs clothing, shoes, bags, jewelry and artwork stating,

“I push myself to do things I wouldn’t be comfortable doing in order to grow as a person.”

These are some of my favorite Emanuel Limon piece’s:

Style Icon: Lissy Trullie

Model, Muse, DJ, Singer, Songwriter, STYLE ICON

Lissy Trullie has quite a resume. She has graced the pages of such magazines as Elle, SOMA, and Jalouse. For Lissy modeling was a part-time gig as “just a way to make money during college” while studying Graphic Design. She was the face of Opening Ceremony and also the muse for Moses de la Renta, son of Oscar.

Besides looks, this girl’s got an ear. Beginning her career DJing at hotspots such a Beatrice Inn, and now as front women in her own band which released their EP “Self Taught Learner”. One of my favorite songs “Boy Boy,” video was shot in the basement of the infamous Lit Lounge. She also has an awesome cover of Hot Chip’s “Ready for the Floor.”

So she’s got talent, but most important is Lissy’s style. Her androgynous and effortless look pulls in ’80’s reflections with blazers and leather motos, layered with a tee, and is finished off, more than not, with a bowler hat. Her quiet and modest personality comes out when approach on her style stating most of her clothes are pieces randomly given to her, which she throws together—simple as that. Regardless of effort, we love her look!
